Happy Holidays & A Great New Year!!

Well, I know I've been promising to have more blogs. I've just been waiting for approval to be able to blog and talk about things. Things are goind well. Just busy. I'm enjoying doing my job as always, but it's hard being away from the wife and kids.

Christmas was uneventful as was the New Year celebrations. However, we did have a great time celebrating one of my Soldier's redeployment back to the states. He is a paralegal that worked for me for about a month. I'm happy for him. We celebrated with Iraqi Pizza Hut pizza and "near beer".

Anyway, when I have a moment, I'll do my best to write a lot more and add a bunch of pictures.

Take care and have a great New Year. I hope to be home soon.

Thanksgiving in Iraq

Hello out there!!! Sorry again for the delay in posts. I'm still awaiting final approval of my blog. I want to make sure I do the right thing, especially being a paralegal in the JAG.

Anyway, just a quick note to let you know that Thanksgiving in Iraq was nice. Not home, not with family, but the family here I've got. It was nice for what we have.

Once my blog space is approved by the system, I'll be sure to add a lot more posts and pictures. Please stand by, have patience and God bless.

Under a Baghdad Moon

Ok, so the internet and the communications leave a lot to be desired here. Many of you I have already contacted, some I haven't. I apologize for the lateness of this post. Our networks block this site so I can't get on it with my office connection, the living conditions don't provide a good enough connection so I have to wait until some free time is available to head to the nearest (two football fields away) MWR facility and wait in line to get on a computer that is very slow as well.

Anyway, I've been in country since the 17th of November. Things seem to be smooth as far as our transferring over, but it's just like I remembered. Dirty, dusty, sometimes hot (although not at the moment) and just a lot of walking to get places. I have to register my Blog space with our communications section, so once that is done I will be posting a lot more info and some pictures as well. The living conditions are really small and lacking in privacy, but for the most part they are livable.

I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving and I hope to speak with most of you soon. Best wishes for the upcoming holidays.

All my best,

Kris

SSG Hall - Flying Out

As most of you all know, I'm on my way "outtahere". I will be flying over to Iraq here shortly (mid November). Bethany, Ken and I have decided this would be the best way for me to keep in touch with everyone. It will be available on the website, www.fidelityofnc.com and I will be sharing it with my family, friends and a few military co-workers.

I look forward to keeping you all up to date and sharing my stories, thoughts, experiences and pictures when I possibly can.

A quick "catch up" of what has occurred so far;
* I left Fidelity on military leave of absence September 2, 2008. I was on state orders for mobilization.
* On September 22, 2008 I was officially put on Federal mobilization orders.
* On September 25, 2008, we shipped to Fort Bragg, NC and started conducting training.

I've been at Fort Bragg, NC since but have had the recent opportunity to take a few 48 hour passes to visit home. Currently on a 4-day pass visiting home and will be preparing to head over on Wednesday. I look forward to continuing this blog.

Keep in touch everyone!!!
